Degree Completions in the Academic Study of Religion

Since 1987, the degree completions data collected by the Department of Education have been detailed enough to permit the separation of graduates studying religion as one of the humanities from those receiving degrees for professional and theological studies. The number of degrees conferred in the academic study of religion has risen substantially since 1987, even with some recent declines.
